"Say WHAT?" You put butter in your coffee?" Yes. You read that right. Some call it a health trend. I call it amazing!
Late last year my husband heard about Bulletproof Coffee and decided to give it a try. I just thought he was drinking some kind of fru - fru coffee cause it tasted good or something. He wasn't a coffee drinker so I was a little confused about his sudden coffee craze. Well I started asking about it and turns out it is a magical drink. Ok, not really but it is pretty cool.
We ordered the Bulletproof Diet book (which is a modified version of Paleo eating) where the breakfast course is a cup of bulletproof coffee with 2 TBSP of grass fed butter and a bit of medium-chain triglycerides (MCT) oil mixed in. Now this Starbucks loving - dessert coffee girl was convinced this would be terrible. BUT I did like the idea of improved cognitive function, hormonal support, creating fat loss and controlling cravings...so I decided I would give it a try.
Truth: It does not taste half bad and after 2 months I can tell a difference in mental clarity, cravings and I have lost 14 pounds without trying too hard. SOLD. I mean lets be honest, if I had to drink something that was nasty for those benefits I could make it happen but it's an added benefit that it tastes good too! I used to be ready for lunch at 11 every day and I struggled with cravings ALL DAY, EVERY DAY. That's just not true now and I regularly find myself forgetting to eat until 1 or 2 because I am so satisfied from my Bulletproof Coffee breakfast.

Here is how I make my coffee:
- Brew one Bulletproof Coffee pod in our Keurig (I keep it super simple and order the pods so I don't have to take the extra time to french press coffee in the morning) with 8oz water.
- Add 2 tbsp Grass Fed Butter
- Add 1 TBSP MCT Oil
- Blend for 30 seconds with Hand Mixer
- ENJOY and feel awesome!
Do you put butter in your coffee or are you going to try it? I would love to hear from you.
Much love friends! - Vicky
